Hadimba (Hidimba) Temple, Manali

The temple is dedicated to Hidimba or Hidimbi, wife of Bhima of Mahabharath.

According to the Mahabharath, Bhima killed Hidumban- a mighty demon, in a fierce fight during theur Vanvas period and married Himbi- her sister thereafter.

The temple is very ancient in origin, although the present structure dates back to 16 nth century AD.

A shrine to Khadolkacha- son of Hidimbi and Bhima, is also there near by.

Needless to say, this seems to be the only shrine dedicated to Hidimbi, where she was worshiped as a Goddess.
